Technology in the classroom for the children of today seems almost vital. Children know so much more about technology than I ever did as a child, they probably know more than I do now. So, in order to reach the generation of today I think it necessary to incorporate many forms of technology into the classroom.
While going through our computer classes the world of technology and how to use it in the classroom has opened up to me. I am excited to start using it in my lessons as I teach. I don't think of it as a burden to incorporate technology, but I think of it rather as a tool to enhance learning for my students.
I know the West Virginia State Content Standards are spelled out for you, and in some cases are incorporated into the teaching curriculum. There doesn't seem to be any excuses why we can't use technology to make learning fun, exciting, and something for the students to remember.

It is so true that it is almost vital to incorporate technology into the classroom today. It is such a valuable teaching tool. I'm sure you're not the only one that children know more about technology than you do...I'm with ya there! :)
Lindsay~ Technology is a major part of the world in even today's youngest learners. We can not get away from the fact that it needs to be an integral part of what we do in the classroom. The question that lingers is how do we do that? Hopefully, in your comp. classes and your education courses you are learning ways of integrating technology into your classroom in very real, practical ways. Another thing is that state education dept. like in WV are creating these technology standards to integrate along with content standards to make sure that children really are being educated for the future through many different resources of learning.
